I am inspired by the compassion of Jesus
A few thousand years ago, a man called Jesus made an impression on the world. I believe the meaning of his life was compassion. He was willing to die because of his compassion.
Are all the other ideas about Jesus more important than compassion? Is that what he was demonstrating? If you remove the idea that he is the son of God and the reason for many religions, there is still a man who lived a life with compassion. I try to honor him by making compassion the most important influence in my life.
It is hard trying to live by compassion. Everything you say can
and will be used against you. Many people ignore compassion and believe
in more destructive methods. Terrorists are an example of believing
in power instead of compassion. My society acts terrorist in an effort
to fight terrorists, so is it any better?
Logic, rules, emotions, and experience:
In their logic and their rules, some people forget the power of emotion and experience - so they die as a result.
In their emotion and their experience, some people forget the power of logic and rules - so they die as a result.
Fools are one and all. The least foolish may be those who know
they are fools, who question their own foolishness. We have methods
to slow our foolishness: religion, government, ethics, laws, social
events, etc. Are any of these things unnecessary when it comes to
questioning our own foolishness?
We are not hurting the mentally ill, they are crazy?
I ask what Jesus might say about society and the mentally ill. -
I am certain that some people today would call Jesus a nut case, crazy,
a person with mental illness. If he said and claimed today what he
did a few thousand years ago, I would expect people to react the same today.
Bigotry and hate are still a tool for many people. You can see for
yourself on my other website,
My roommate said that I wasted my money writing to hundreds of people looking for compassion. It did show me the nature of my world. All the people that I contacted were associated with organizations claiming to support compassion or similar values. Most of these did not respond. Those who did respond said they could not help, or were not interested, or that I was a bad person.
I must be crazy, because I still believe in compassion like Jesus.
